World's Premier Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention Successfully Hosted as In Person & Online Event

Following a return to its person convention that welcomed more than 17,000 attendees to Toronto earlier this month, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) has successfully completed the online portion of the event—its first ever in person and online convention in the same year.

Following a return to its person convention that welcomed more than 17,000 attendees to Toronto earlier this month, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) has successfully completed the online portion of the event—its first ever in person and online convention in the same year.

The Association is celebrating 90 years as the voice of Canada’s mineral exploration and mining industry in 2022, and the milestone was welcomed with an exceptional lineup of programming as well as another first—a June convention.

“The PDAC Convention is iconic for the world’s mineral exploration and mining industry, it is a staple in social calendars for those who work in our business because it is an event that simply cannot be missed,” says Alex Christopher, PDAC President.

“That theory was tested when we shifted to an entirely online event in 2021, and then again when it moved from March to June for both an in person and online convention, and the feedback has been nothing short of positive from an industry that is eager to get back to doing business in a pre-pandemic manner.”

The online event offered a customized platform where participants could navigate through exhibit halls, network with colleagues, and join sessions filled with captivating speakers and relevant programming that keeps attendees informed with current knowledge.

The lineup included exclusive online-only sessions as well as select recordings of key notes and programming from the in person event.

“The PDAC Convention is about connecting people, and that means offering a platform that allows the broader international mining and exploration community who may not be able to travel to Toronto, to still have access to the latest industry news, trends, and developments through our extensive programming,” says Lisa McDonald, PDAC Executive Director.

Attendees can access content demand until July 29, 2022.

The PDAC Convention will return to its traditional dates in March to realign with industry and market forces from March 5 to 8, 2023.
