Freeport-McMoRan Student Accommodation Application Form
The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada is committed to supporting opportunities for students to experience different facets of the mineral exploration industry. The PDAC International Convention, Trade Show and Investors Exchange offer students a unique experience by hosting events designed specifically with students in mind. This Accommodation fund was implemented to help students offset the cost of lodging in Toronto during the PDAC Convention.
Eligibility for funding criteria
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in a geoscience or mining related program.
- Students must be a PDAC member in good standing and currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Students MUST show proof of registration for the PDAC Convention and a booking confirmation/receipt for accommodation during the PDAC Convention.
- Applications will only be considered from students travelling approximately 100 km and more to the convention.
Application Guidelines
- The Department Chair or professor must sign off on the Validation Document confirming that all information is accurate.
- Applications will be approved on a first come, first served basis.
- All applications must include detailed estimates of all expenses.
- Completed applications must include:
- Signed Accommodation Fund Application form
- Proof of PDAC Convention registration
- Proof of accommodation booking/confirmation
- Validation Document
- The application deadline is February 7, 2025.

Allocation & Approval of Funding
Funding will be allocated based on the number of nights required for accommodation in Toronto during the PDAC Convention. If accommodations are to be shared, all participants staying in the room must be listed on the application form and provide proof of registration.
The PDAC reserves the right to refuse any application and retains sole discretion to determine funding amounts to accommodate all requests, received and anticipated, for the period.
If approved, funds will be transferred electronically to the student after the convention once final documentation is provided. Applicants will receive email correspondence once the application is received and under review. A separate email will be provided once the application is approved.Â
Incomplete forms will not be considered.
Administration of Funds
Applicants will be required to provide a direct deposit form, complete mailing address and final hotel receipt / folio by March 24th, 2025 for funds to be administered post convention. An email will be sent reminding applications to submit their final documentation. If final documentation is not received by March 24, funds will not be administered.Â
