Through this award, the Leishman family hope to continue Don's legacy of generosity and mentorship, and provide students in the geoscience and mining field with an opportunity to attend the PDAC, develop lasting friendships, and advance their career through learning and mentorship.

The Experience will cover the cost of flights, accommodations, PDAC student membership, an All-Access Student Pass and access to a ticketed networking event for each selected student. Students will receive a meal allowance and invitations to networking events during the Convention. 

Eligibility & Criteria

Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in a geoscience or mining related program at a Canadian post-secondary institution and have never attended the annual PDAC Convention.
Candidates must be available to travel to Toronto from Sunday, March 2 and attend the convention until Wednesday, March 5, 2025.


 

This application has two requirements:

  • Resume that includes work experience, accomplishments, field skills, association memberships, volunteer and extra-curricular experience
  • Short video (3 - 5 minutes) that highlights the following:
    • Your interest in your program of study
    • Why you would like to work in the minerals industry
    • What you hope to gain from this Convention Experience

Submission Deadline:  Monday, December 4, 2024.

Applicants will be notified regarding the status of their submissions before the end of January 2025.
